I best describe this episode of life as twilight years. This is when you reach the age they so tag as senior citizens. But no matter what they call it, phrase or tag it, this won't stop me from utilizing the remaining years of life, especially when there are memories left to unfold.
1974, so many write-up published, posted about what really happened and after then. All had stories to tell, memories to share, the ordeal experienced during the siege of the town of Jolo by extremist we need not have to mention. But though all may be telling the truth, some facts have remained questionable.
February 6. 1974 was the exact date the extremists have attacked the town, it was near midnight then. In daytime before that siege, it was quiet and seemed peaceful, there were no gunshots, or bombings, as shelling was normal then almost every hour. That is the biggest difference in my memory. What I remember is, that afternoon of February 6, 1974, our report cards were given to us by the school and giving a mass promotion. We were the graduates of class 74 NDJBGHSD.
And we survived, parted ways, not totally forgetting friends, neighbors, relatives, families, but we lost a lot of relationships, maybe good memories together.
One thing sure, each, if not all have been part of each others lives.
Years, I mean years have passed, then slowly coming back one by one. I did so quickly as I had to stop my studies for a while.
People kept coming back, I had to leave again. Poor town left alone.
Time passed, years and years. People changed, landscape, structures, attitude, character, personality, one will not, the fact that you and I, is a part of each other's past. Thank you, more to share, coming soon.
